How institutional operators procure

Coast Guard authorities, port operators, research institutions and patrol agencies typically source a vessel through processes like BC Bid, formal tenders, or a direct relationship with a manufacturer's dealer network, not a general web search. Protector Boats Canada works within those processes as the exclusive Canadian dealer for Protector RIBs, providing the specification detail, credentials and direct contact an agency needs to shortlist or specify Rayglass in a tender, along with technical support for anything a submission requires.

Engine and configuration options for commercial and patrol boat builds

Commercial and institutional Protectors are configured around the operator's mission rather than a fixed spec sheet. Rayglass builds these hulls with twin inboard, twin outboard, twin outboard with a walk-through transom, or triple outboard power, with the largest hulls carrying up to approximately 1,500 hp combined. Protector Boats Canada works out seating, deck layout and mounting points for the equipment an operator carries, such as rescue gear, dive platforms or research instrumentation, before the build is placed in Auckland.

How a Protector order works

Commercial and institutional builds follow the same three-stage process used for ordering a Protector in Canada, adapted to your organization's specification and approval requirements.

  1. Consultation

Tell our team how you'll use the boat. Every Protector sold in Canada is specified to one customer before it's built.

  2. Design & build

A full 3D design proposal, covering layout, colour, upholstery, engines, electronics and seating, is signed off before the boat is built to order in Auckland, with ongoing consultation throughout the build.

  3. Delivery & commissioning

Protector Boats Canada takes care of delivery and commissioning, then hands your Protector over on the water in British Columbia.
