Inside the 310 Chase

The Protector 310 Chase is a 9-metre open-console RIB built for operators who need speed, deck space and load-carrying capacity in one hull. At 31 feet, it sits in the middle of the Chase range, large enough to run twin outboards up to 900hp, compact enough to store on a superyacht foredeck or move between coastal launch points along the BC coast.

The layout is built around a 360-degree walk-around deck, so crew can move from bow to stern without stepping over gear, lines or dive tanks, a detail that matters as much on a research charter out of Nanaimo as it does chasing a yacht through the Gulf Islands. The open console keeps sightlines clear for the helm and for a spotter working a dive flag or a tender pickup.

An optional wet bar, built around a small fridge and sink, turns the 310 Chase from a pure utility platform into something a superyacht crew can hand to guests for a half-day trip, without giving up the deck space and 409L fuel range that make it useful for longer runs up the coast to Desolation Sound.

Power is specified per boat. Outboard packages across the 400 to 900hp range let our team match the hull to how it will actually be used, whether that is a fast tender running to and from anchor, a dive-support boat working slack tides, or a chase boat following a race fleet during yacht-racing-syndicate support work. Because every Protector sold into Canada is ordered against one buyer's brief rather than pulled from stock, the same hull can be set up very differently for patrol-style duty than for a private tender.

Configuration and options

The 310 Chase is specified boat by boat, not sold as a fixed package. Outboard power is selected within the 400 to 900hp range to suit tender, dive, patrol or chase-boat use. The optional wet bar, with fridge and sink, is fitted for owners who use the boat for guest transport as well as utility work. Upholstery, deck hardware, navigation and communication electronics, and seating layout around the open console are worked through with our team during the design stage, before the boat is built in Auckland.
