410 Targa in Canada

At 12.5m, this is the largest Targa in the range, with a larger aft cockpit, full walk-around deck access, and the fuel capacity to back up long days on the water, whether that means hosting guests or running a working deck.

The Protector 410 Targa is built to order in Auckland by Rayglass and supplied to Canadian owners through Protector Boats Canada. Our team takes care of everything from ordering to handover and service.

Scaled up for deck space and endurance

Step up from the 380 Targa and the extra length goes almost entirely into usable space. At 12.5m, the 410 Targa carries a larger aft cockpit than any other boat in the Targa range, opening up the stern for entertaining, tender-handling, or working-deck operations depending on how the boat is specified. The internal beam runs close to 9.5ft, giving the cabin and cockpit real walking room rather than a corridor between console and seating. You notice it the moment you step aboard.

Below deck, the head gives full standing headroom and is closed off from the cabin entirely. That's real privacy, and a detail that matters more on long days than most spec sheets suggest. Walk-around deck access runs the full length of the boat, so moving forward to handle lines or fenders doesn't mean climbing over gunwale-height seating to get there.

In the range, the 410 Targa sits above the 380 Targa. It's the step up for anyone who has outgrown that boat's cockpit and cabin, and the forward-cabin layout carries over at the larger size. Private buyers use the extra space for longer, more social days on the water; commercial and institutional operators use it for equipment, crew, or passenger capacity without moving up to a displacement-hull vessel.

Hull construction, the deep-vee running surface, and the RIB collar carry over from the rest of the Protector range. The 410 Targa is built to the same standard as the boats supplied to America's Cup teams, not a scaled-down commercial hull on different tooling. What changes at this length is capacity: more cockpit, more beam, more deck, and more fuel for longer days on the water.

Configuration and options

The 410 Targa is available in the standard outboard configuration or as a diesel-inboard build. You confirm engine choice, colour, upholstery, electronics, and seating during the design phase, ahead of the build in Auckland.

The same platform also underpins the Expedition, a newer hardtop variant built for owners who want the 410's cockpit and beam under a fixed hardtop. Ask our team whether Targa, diesel-inboard, or Expedition hardtop best matches how you intend to run the boat before finalizing a specification.

410 Targa as a superyacht tender

The larger aft cockpit and deck space put the 410 Targa in range for tender duty on yachts that need more capacity than a compact chase boat can carry: crew, guests, water toys, or dive gear. See how Protector RIBs are specified for superyacht tender programs on the superyacht tenders page.

What's the difference between the 410 Targa and the 410 Chase?

Both share similar length and power, but the 410 Targa keeps the Targa's forward-cabin layout and larger aft cockpit, while the 410 Chase is built around an open deck. Compare the two on the 410 Chase page.
